For the past 6 years I have been practicing yoga at the The River Yoga, in the Golden Triangle neighborhood. When it came time to expand The River Yoga into a second location I was fortunate enough to be part of the design team.
Early this month I had the pleasure of taking a staycation in my city, Denver. Hotel Born, where do I even start….since its opening in 2017 I have been obsessed with this building. Local architecture firm Semple Brown did such an amazing job with the exterior + interior of this place.
When tapped to help a couple design a new 2 car garage with a 1 bedroom apartment above I teamed up with design-build firm Design Platform to navigate the ins + outs of designing + building a one of a kind backyard project.
If in Detroit you have to plan a stay at the incredible new The Siren Hotel in the revamped Wurlitzer building. The Wurlitzer building was built in 1926 + the company operated out of the location until the 1970’s. Since 1982 the building sat empty falling into disrepair until the amazing folks at AshNYC saw it for the diamond in the rough that it is.
2018 has come + gone, it was a full of lots of challenges + exciting moments. It was the year I tried to figure out the work life balance, still not there just yet, projects with clients becoming friends, + the joy of watching my designs go from paper to reality.
Wow I cant believe its already the first day of winter, how this year has flown by. This year I am feeling the darkness more in the days + cant wait for the light to return. The winter solstice brings hope.
