Hotel Born - Denver, Colorado
Early this month I had the pleasure of taking a staycation in my city, Denver. Hotel Born, where do I even start….since its opening in 2017 I have been obsessed with this building. Local architecture firm Semple Brown did such an amazing job with the exterior + interior of this place. The lobby had simple elements, but with all the textures in surfaces + fabric it makes the space feel more elevated + dynamic. The space used the actual building materials as design elements to add depth and interest within the rooms, like the elevator shaft concrete being left exposed. The outdoor patio with a view of bustling Union Station was the perfect place to enjoy the afternoon beer during the hotel’s nightly cocktail hour.
I stayed in a suite that had a very mountain vibe, yet kept a minimalist style, bringing in color instead of neutrals. The bedroom had a wood headboard that extended onto the ceiling, where the concrete slab was left exposed as the ceiling material, no drywall necessary. One nightstand had a great metal pendant light while the window side had a simple table lamp, providing a fun contrast and bringing a little interest to the room. The bathroom was sleek, just my style, white walls, wood vanity + natural stone, it was a no nonsense kinda place.
Hotel Born was the place to stay + I could not have been happier with my time spent here.
